UTICA -- 55-year-old Zuhdja Cejvanovic was charged with assaulting a police officer after authorities say he slammed the officer's head against a table while being escorted out of a central New York bar.
Police in Utica say the officer was called to the UNA Bar early Monday morning for a report of an intoxicated man who refused to leave the tavern.
Authorities say that while Cejvanovic was being escorted out of the bar, he became physically violent towards the officer and slammed his head against a table.
Police Officer Vincent Parrotta was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center for treatment of a head injury.
Cejvanovic was charged with a felony count of assault on a police officer.
