WATERTOWN -- New York State Police in Watertown arrested 31-year-old Christopher M. Perciful of Watertown after he was seen driving a stolen car on Interstate 81.

Troopers spotted a 2009 Chevrolet Impala on I-81 at about 4:30am Wednesday, January 30th. The car was reported stolen by City of Watertown Police.

When troopers tried to stop Perciful, he lost control of the car and hit a home on Route 37 in Watertown.

Troopers say Perciful then ran. He was picked-up a short time later at Longways Truck Stop and was arrested without further incident.

Perciful was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.

He is currently being held in Jefferson County Jail.
