Bordoni's mother-in-law tells the Ithaca Journal he died last Tuesday night at the San Antonio Military Medical Center. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force based at Camp Lejune, North Carolina.

"I join with all New Yorkers in mourning the loss of Corporal Bordoni," said Governor Cuomo. "We will forever honor the service and sacrifice of this New York Marine. I send my deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fellow Marines."
