SYRACUSE -- It's a special homecoming just in time for the holidays.

More military families are preparing to welcome home soldiers from the New York Army National Guard's 27th Infantry Brigade Special Troops Battalion.

The 21 soldiers are supposed to arrive at the New York State Armory around 1 a.m. Thursday morning.

The soldiers have been deployed for almost a year to Kuwait. While they were there, they performed logistics, administrative and security missions.

The soldiers went through demobilization at Camp Shelby in Mississippi before returning to Central New York.
