SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner told CNYCentral's Michael Benny her relationship with Governor Andrew Cuomo is "professional," even though they disagree over key budget policies.  The Mayor is still co-chair of the State Democratic Party, and believes she will remain in that job the Governor gave her.  "The Governor is free to have anyone he wants do this job, for now that is me and I don't see that changing," Miner said on CBS 5 News at 5 on Thursday afternoon.

Recently, Miner made statewide political headlines in this New York Times op-ed piece.  In her writing, Miner calls out the Governor's budget proposal for "an accounting gimmick" that would "let municipalities push payment of today's ballooning pension costs into the future" by borrowing more money.

The Mayor stands by her writing, and believes that there is room for a debate on the issue - even among members of her own party.
