CBA baseball coach out of hospital after being shot in eye

SYRACUSE -- The Christian Brothers Academy baseball coach who was shot in the eye during an armed robbery at his store is out of the hospital.

Tom Dotterer is expected to talk to our Jim Kenyon this afternoon as he continues to recover.

The 77-year-old was shot last week during a robbery at his liquor store on Syracuse's north side. Dotterer owns Syracuse Wine and Spirits at 1428 North Salina Street.

He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and had surgery to repair his eye.

Police later arrested Shireef Williams III and charged him with robbery and assault.
