UTICA -- A Birnie Bus driver was charged with sex abuse in the city of Utica. Abubakar Baharo was arrested following an investigation into a sexual assault of a child earlier this week on a Birnie Bus in the city of Utica, according to Chief Deputy Dean Obernesser of Oneida County Child Advocacy Center. Baharo was charged with first degree sexual abuse. Baharo was arraigned in Utica City Court and remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000.00 bail. The victim has been offered counseling services through the Child Advocacy Center. The investigation was handled by Oneida County Sheriff's Sgt. Denise Luker.
