La Liga, the Spanish Action League, will have more employees and a larger facility in 2013, as it expands services to the growing Spanish-speaking community in the Syracuse area. There are now 46 employees.

Based on Syracuse's West Side, at 700 Oswego Street, La Liga sees the most growth in interpreting, especially in medical cases, but executive director Rita Paniagua says there's also more emphasis on Nuestro Futuro, the after-school programs aimed at young students.

700 Oswego has had offices on the first floor of its building, with apartments above.  Paniagua says the tenants will be moved out--they'll be building new homes on donated land--and the upstairs will also be converted to office space.

For more information on services, La Liga is at 475-6153  or www.laligaupstateny.org
