PORT LEYDEN -- A Lewis County woman is accused of pretending to be an Avon representative and scheming someone out of money.

Oneida County Sheriff's deputies say 23-year-old Brittany Lloyd, of Rt. 12 in Port Leyden, pretended to be a sales representative for Avon Corporation and solicited an order for Avon products. She then allegedly requested a $193 pre-payment and never ordered or provided the victim with the products.

Deputies say Lloyd never submitted any orders with Avon.

She was issued an appearance ticket for petit larceny. She is scheduled to appear in Boonville Town Court at a later date.

Anyone with information should contact Deputy Robert Frankland at (315) 736-0141.
