States of emergency lifted in CNY counties as Sandy passes

NEW YORK -- As superstorm Sandy passes counties around Central New York are lifting states of emergency and travel advisories that had been declared Monday night.

The State of Emergency was lifted for Chenango County at 5:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. Along with the cancellation the roads were authorized to to re-open. Chenango schools remain closed Tursday.

The Cayuga County travel advisory was lifted just after 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to Sheriff David Gould.
