SYRACUSE -- There will be light flurries in the Central New York area on Wednesday but it is not expected to stick or accumulate.

Watch meteorologist Peter Hall’s full weather forecast above.

The wind is blowing west and will eventually become southwesterly. Flurries and showers directly east of Lake Ontario-north of Syracuse-could create an inch of new snow.

There will be periods of sunshine in the area, but the best chance for extended intervals will be in the Southern Tier.  The Thruway corridor will be mostly overcast with some intervals of sun in the afternoon.  It will be grey and overcast all day in the North Country.

Today’s high is expected to be 35 degrees with a low of 25.
