Snowy weather returns to Central New York

SYRACUSE -- The snowy weather Syracuse is known for made its return Saturday.

For many, this was one of the first times they needed to pull out the snow shovel this winter.

Meanwhile, DPW crews in the city have been working around the clock to keep roads clear.

Commissioner Pete O'Connor said the 12 trucks hit the road late Friday night.  By 7 a.m. Saturday, O'Connor said 19 trucks were out clearing roads.

O'Connor said majority road have been cleared at least once and emergency roads leading to hospitals have been cleared at least twice.

19 trucks will remain out on the roads overnight and into Sunday morning.  O'Connor said his staff will reassess the situation around 7 a.m. Sunday.
