SYRACUSE -- Syracuse University has benched James Southerland, according to reports. The University says that he is suspended indefinitely for an unspecified eligibility matter.

Calls to officials at Syracuse University have not been returned.

Coach Boeheim did not shed any further light into the suspension, saying he had nothing to add to the university's original release.

CNY Central spoke to players after the game, and the general consesus was that they didn't know how long Southerland would be sidelined, but that they were preparing to play without him.
