Missing 92-year-old retired police officer found safely

SYRACUSE -- Missing retired police officer Manuel Leone, 92, was been found safe in Pittsford, near Rochester, afrer he had reportedly gone missing Monday morning, according to Syracuse Police.

Police say Leone became lost after he became disoriented while driving.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Department assisted in finding him.

Syracuse Police have taken a family member to Pittsford and Leone is being brought home.

Before going missing, he was last seen having breakfast at Mother's Cupboard in Syracuse at around 7:30 AM on Monday.

Police said Leone was believed to be headed to a florist or a hardware store to purchase a wreath stand so he could place a memorial wreath at a family member’s grave in Assumption Cemetery.
