Fairmount residents told to stay away from homes during standoff

FAIRMOUNT -- Residents in Fairmount were told to stay in their homes Thursday afternoon while police were involved in a standoff with a local resident.

According to Onondaga County 911, around 1:30 p.m. Camillus Police responded to the 200 block of Scott Avenue. Residents on Scott Avenue and Sidney Street were asked via a reverse 911 phone call to stay in their homes while the standoff was underway. Part of Scott Ave. was blocked off for several hours.

Police say the standoff is now over.
