Tyler Rouse commits to Boston College

BALDWINSVILLE -- After making the announcement earlier in the week, Baldwinsville running back Tyler Rouse committed to play football Boston College on Wednesday.
Rouse did not have an offer until about three weeks ago, and he says the past few weeks have been a whirlwind of visits to various schools. Rouse says he spoke with the Boston College coaching staff while they were still at Temple, and loves of the ambiance of playing at the school.
"They're just great guys and the atmosphere is unbelievable," Rouse, the New York Gatorade Football Player of the Year, says. "I think I can bring a lot of heart and soul to the team."
Rouse's former coach Carl Sanfilippo says they will work with Rouse and start him all over again, physically and mentally to get him in top physical and mental shape for the football season. He says Rouse will be a low maintenance athlete for Boston College, just like in high school.
"It's a real joy for us," Sanfilippo says. "Because the end result is you want to see them play and move on, we're excited."
And Rouse says while he starred at Baldwinsville with more than 2900 yards and 45 touchdowns in his senior season, he has learned the most off the field from his coach, which should go a long way toward his development as a college athlete.
"Really it's morals," Rouse says. "He teaches me more off the field...that'll go with me throughout my career, all through college, throughout my life."
