ONEIDA COUNTY -- The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit arrested a county inmate after they found cocaine in his cell.

Deputies say 22-year-old Shawn J. Stephenson, of Rome, was charged with promoting prison contraband and criminal possession of a controlled substance when investigators searched his cell in the Oneida County Jail and found a folded piece of paper with a white powder inside.

The powder tested positive for cocaine. Deputies got a warrant from Town of Whitestown Court and arrested Stephenson, who will be arraigned on February 11th.
