SYRACUSE -- CNY Central was honored Thursday to host a delegation of journalists from Kyrgyzstan.

The six journalists came to Syracuse to better understand how local media in the United States operates and apply what they've learned to their own culture. The visit was part of the diplomatic mission of the U.S. Congress called Open World.

They came to CNY Central to meet with our investigative reporter Jim Kenyon.

According to the information packet accompanying the visit, "This exchange will enable delegates to study and observe how journalists from all types of media outlets in the United States discover, investigate and effectively report on corruption and illegal activity."

Kyrgyzstan is a nation of 5.5 million people located in central Asia on the western border of China.
