In case you missed it, we had another very successful Weather Deck Party this past Thursday evening. There is still a tremendous amount of work involved in putting one of these things on every month. Again, I want to thank my "right hand person" Erikka for helping so much and in particular, helping me make the decision on what groups we invite each month.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t also thank our two Summer interns who have also been a big help to both Erikka and myself in the details of each party. So thank you Avery and Kathleen.
Here are the folks we honored at this months party…
*Sammy Summers Family (FACES Agency of Syracuse Model neighborhood)
*Lorretta Jean Wadsworth family
*313th Recruiting Squadron for the U.S. Air Force
*Paul Donor family
*Sandy Creek Elementary School
*Gingersnap Bakery of Phoenix
*Anthony Valada family
*The Vitality Program at the Institute for Human performance
The above honorees again encompass everything from horrible tragedies to good people doing good things. Some of these folks you have heard about in the news. For instance, the Sandy Creek Elementary School group was here in remembrance of the eight kids who died in that horrific Richland, NY (Oswego county) fire last winter. Teachers and classmates, all remembering those eight souls. So many great party registrations….Over 700 so far, and so many good ones! Erikka, Avery, Kathleen and I have a very difficult time choosing. We want a party for everyone…but that’s just not possible.
The parties we do have though, and we have more coming up so be sure to register at CNYcentral.com, are brought to you by two major sponsors. P&C Supermarkets and Tarsons Pools and Spas. Talk about great folks caring about the community! These are them!
And some of the other folks who "make it a good time" are Able Smith Tents and Party Rentals, TK-99 radio with Gomez, Dave and Lisa; Syracuse Safety Lights, Cruisin’ Cones ice cream truck, Laci’s Hamburger Joint, the Syracuse CRUNCH and Syracuse Chiefs, and not to forget many people here at WSTM Channel 3. As real "team effort" as they say!
So, until next party, keep writing in, and thanks to everyone for your support and helping put smiles on these folks' faces.
