3rd outdoor party of the season
The 2010 Weatherdeck Party season continues and we put another one in the books recently with more great guests attending.
We had eight great groups of people we were honoring totaling about 155 people. Add in VIPs like Frank Malfitano from JazzFest, representatives from the City of Syracuse Mayor’s office, the City of Syracuse Fire Chief etc… and we had a good 190 guests enjoying themselves, along with an additional 20 staff from our TV stations at CNYcentral.com.
Music was provided by the super folks at the Great Music Company. Able Smith again provided the games (like the bouncy house for the kids), and the tent, just on the chance of rain. We gave away more super prizes throughout the party and even had members of the Spirit of Syracuse Chorus serenading us.
The overall party “theme” remains unchanged as we picked honorees who had horrible personal tragedies in their lives along with people who have been performing good deeds for others and the community. Just like last year, the selection process is tough.
Wegmans is our primary sponsor for all of our Wayne’s Weatherdeck Parties this season and also supplying all the great food. If you know anything about Wegmans, you know just how community minded they are
As I mentioned, it is no easy task choosing the recipients for each party. We have more than 1000 nominations. But, we had to make a decision, and below is the list of invited guests we had for this most recent party. I trust we put a smile of their faces for the time they were here.

*Cynthia Mamouaka – Husband and son pass away two weeks apart
*Hillside students and faculty.
Now, we rest up for a week or so, then begin preparations for our next Wayne’s Weatherdeck Party which will take place on Thursday August 12th. And remember, we continue taking registrations and nominations online for our Weatherdeck Parties. Go to CNYcentral.com and go to “Contest Corner”.
Also a reminder that we have a giant event coming up at the Wegmans Good Dog Park in Liverpool on Saturday August 7th from 10am – 2pm. FREE ADMISSION. Rain or shine. It will be the biggest animal welfare event ever in central NY history. Dozens of vendors, rescue organizations, demonstrations, pets for adoption, food, music and so much more. All monies go to help animals and animal welfare organizations through the Priscilla Mahar Animal Welfare Foundation at www.pmawf.org.
