Colonel Mike Mullane was at Kennedy Space Center watching ‘his’ shuttle leave for the last time as it headed to the nation’s capital.
On our noon news, he told us he’s saddened that budgets have forced NASA’s manned space program’s cutbacks, but he’s looking to the future, encouraging young people to get involved in careers in math, science and technology, including through the Boy Scouts.
He’s meeting with area scouts on the STEM pilot project, at Syracuse’s MOST on Wednesday afternoon, ahead of the Boypower fundraiser dinner Wednesday night.
