Pennellville couple arrested after police find 32 pounds of pot in their home

PENNELLVILLE -- James E. Rogers and Anne Marie Benway, both of Pennellville, were arrested early Wednesday morning after the New York State Police and Oswego County Drug Task Force found marijuana and weapons in their home.

According to the New York State Police, at around 5 AM on Wednesday a search warrant for the home on 14 Nottingham Runne in Pennellville was executed and 32 pounds of marijuana was found, along with metal knuckles, two long guns, a scale, packaging and $4,200 in cash.

Rogers, 55, is a convicted felon.  He is charged with possession of marijuana and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Benway, 50, was charged with criminal possession of marijuana.

The two were arraigned in the Town of Schroeppel Court.

Both were sent to the Oswego County Correctional facility.  Benway is there in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.  No bail was set for Rogers.
