MADISON COUNTY -- The Madison County Sheriff's Office has issued a travel advisory for drivers.

Officials said county roads are very slippery because of blowing snow and falling temperatures, especially on rural roads.

Drivers are being asked to use caution, leave extra time to reach their destination and allow extra distance between vehicles.

Officials said there were numerous accidents throughout the county Saturday because of the poor road conditions.

The advisory remains in effect until 5:00 a.m. Sunday.
