BALDWINSVILLE & MANLIUS -- Before slicing into turkey, hundreds of people took to the streets in Baldwinsville, or the trails in Manlius, to burn some calories before sitting down for their big feast.

Thursday morning marked the 44th annual Turkey Trot in Baldwinsville, thrown by the Baldwinsville Kiwanis.

Proceeds will go toward the Ronald McDonald Charities of Central New York, and other local organizations.

Meanwhile, in Manlius, runners laced up their sneakers to participate in a 4K and an 8K race through Fayettville-Manlius High School's cross country trails.

This was its third turkey trot.

Money raised will benefit the school's sports programs.

All across the country, Turkey Trots were held to benefit organizations in many communities.
