LANDSTUHL, GERMANY (AP) -- Fort Drum officials say a 10th Mountain Division soldier from Missouri has died in a German hospital from non-combat related injuries.

Spc. Robert Charlton of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in Wardak, Afghanistan last Friday. The Army did not release details of the incident.

Charlton, a 22-year-old infantryman with the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, was sent to Afghanistan in January 2009. It was his first deployment. He joined the Army in July 2007.
