CANTON (AP) -- Authorities say a man fatally shot his wife and 94-year-old mother-in-law inside their northern New York home before turning the gun on himself.
The St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department says the bodies of 68-year-old Lane Eschmann and her mother, Maria Kitzmueller, were found Monday afternoon inside their home in Canton, 118 northeast of Syracuse.
Authorities say Eschmann's daughter found the bodies after stopping by to visit and called police.
Deputies say they found the body of Eschmann's 73-year-old husband Wilfried in a car parked inside a barn on the property. Police say he shot himself in the head with the same gun used to kill the two women.
Authorities say they don't have a motive for the shootings.
The Eschmanns were former dairy farmers in Canton.
