FRANKFORT, HERKIMER COUNTY -- A State Trooper was able to walk away from a dangerous looking crash Wednesday afternoon. Police say Trooper Jeff Kopec was on his was to a domestic violence call when he lost control on Center Road in Frankfort. Kopec then went down an embankment and flipped over in Ferguson Creek.

The cruiser was so damaged that Trooper Kopec couldn't get out and crews had to cut the vehicle apart to free him.

The trooper had a cut on his head. He was taken to Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center for treatment. Kopec has been with the state police force, for two years.

An Action News viewer owns the property where Trooper Kopec crashed. He was the first on the scene and submitted photographs to MyCNYcentral.com. Click here to see the pictures and video.
