GEDDES -- If you’re heading to the historic Syracuse Crunch vs. Binghamton Senators Outdoor Classic game on Saturday, then you may be wondering 'What do I wear to stay warm?' with wind chills around 20 degrees.  That’s a good question!  Well, I’m no Mr. Blackwell, and my family will tell you that I’m anything but fashion conscious, but I do have some suggestions on what to wear to keep you warm based on information from L.L. Bean and a few other outdoor clothing companies.

- Dress in layers. Several thin layers will keep you warmer than one thick layer. Best is to have a couple of thin layers closest to the skin, then finish off with a thicker layer, like a heavy coat, preferably waterproof. The object here to keep as much of your body heat in as possible and as much cold out.

- Wear a hat. 80% of your body's heat is lost from your head. As the body increases blood flow to the brain and head to keep them warm, smaller body parts like toes and fingers experience decreased blood flow, and they get cold.

- Wear long, thick socks, and a scarf, mittens or gloves.

- Decrease alcohol consumption. When you are cold and your body is tying to increase blood circulation, alcohol acts to reduce blood circulation, the opposite effect of what you’d want.

So, follow these simple rules, maybe grab a cup of hot chocolate at the game, and you be toasty warm enjoying this historic event!

Also, the Crunch announced the schedule of fan activities for the Mirabito Outdoor Classic. Gates will open at the fairgrounds at 8:30 a.m. Fans should report to the Gate 6 Entry point. There will be a $10 fee for parking.

The following activities are planned for the fan zone tent (located behind General Admission Bleacher 3).
