Kidney disease early detection

Photo
This Thursday is World Kidney Day, and the CNY chapter of the kidney foundation is offering comprehensive screenings, for early detection of kidney disease.  Laura Squadrito, from the chapter, says 26 million people have kidney disease in this country, and the number is growing: diabetes and high blood pressure are principal causes, dialysis and needing a transplant are the results.
The screenings, being offered at the foundation offices at 731 James Street, 10 - 2 on Thursday, include a complete medical check, blood and urinalysis and a consult with a doctor.  For more information and to sign up:  www.cnykidney.org or 476-0311.
