Wind, downed wires affect thousands
NY State Electric and Gas has sent dozens of crews, and contract tree crews from across the state to its Brewster, Liberty and Mechanicville Divisions, where thousands are without power in this weekend's wind and rain storms. In the Brewster Division alone, there are 87-hundred customers in Westchester, Putnam and Duchess Counties without power at noon on Sunday. NYSEG hopes to have most power restored by midnight, though some customers could be without power until Tuesday. NYSEG plans an update at 4pm.
