Fire damages South State Street home

SYRACUSE -- UPDATE: Saturday 4:45-Fire has severely damaged a home at 1822 South State Street in Syracuse  Saturday morning. One person inside the home was able to get out. Initially it was thought a second person was in the house, but that person had left to go to the store before the fire started. The flames were so intense, that firefighters called for outside operations for safety reasons. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.


Syracuse firefighters are on the scene of a working structure fire at 1822 South State Street.

The call went out around 11:30 Saturday morning. According to our crew on the scene, the back of the home has heavy fire damage as do other parts of the structure.
