Syracuse Cenefest celebrates 30th year
Syracuse Cinefest's 30th anniversary convention wraps up on Sunday after a marathon long weekend of screening rare and vintage prints of silents, feature films and short subjects, checking out movie memorabilia from numerous dealers, and being part of a memorabilia auction hosted by long-time film critic Leonard Maltin.
Among those at this year's event--for the first time--author Martin Grams, an author whose specialty is trivia on old productions. He was in Syracuse for his first Cinefest, signing his books, but says he'd like to come back. Grams has written on 'The Twilight Zone' and on 'The Green Hornet'--which is about to be released as a spring motion picture. A bit of trivia: the Green Hornet and The Lone Ranger are related (the same writer penned both old series, and created the blood relationship).
