Former scoutmaster charged with sex abuse

WILLIAMSTOWN -- A former scoutmaster and Bible studies teacher has been arrested after police say he sexually abused a child.

According to New York State Police, 72-year-old Samuel W. Langley of State Route 350 in Ontario, Wayne County was arrested Thursday and charged with second degree sexual course of conduct against a child. Police say an investigation concluded that he had sexual contact with a five-year-old girl.

Police say Langley has been a scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts in the local area for the past 40 years, as well as a youth Bible studies teacher at the Baptist Bible Church.

Anyone having information regarding Langley is urged to contact the State Police in Williamson at 315-589-8288. Police say their investigation is ongoing.
