SYRACUSE -- Howie Hawkins formally announced his gubernatorial campaign to the Syracuse community Friday.
Hawkins has run in several races at the local and State level and won the nomination for the Green Party in the governor's race.
He was at Skiddy Park Friday, and said he hopes his candidacy will push the political agenda in a different direction.
If the Green Party candidate gets 50,000 votes, it will secure an automatic line on New York ballots for the next four years.
