GEDDES -- They're back. A staple of summer for the past several years, the Syracuse Nationals returned to Central New York Friday.
Thousands of restored classic and customized cars will be on display at the New York State Fairgrounds through Sunday. More than 7,500 street rods are expected to participate. Overnight, hundreds of the cars lined up at the State Fairgrounds waiting to get in early for a prime spot to show off their vehicles.
Organizers were forced to open the gates early when the line to get in backed up to Interstate 690.
