We received notice today from NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) – those who run the National Weather Service and the National Hurricane Center), that they will be holding a press conference this Thursday featuring their “updated” hurricane prediction for this season.

I am willing to bet that we will hear them revising their prediction downward from a “well above average” season to something closer to average. We are just starting August, and although the peak of the hurricane season isn’t until September 10th, we have only had two named storms so far. Of course, lets keep in mind, it only takes one Hurricane Katrina  or Hurricane Andrew type storm to make it a season to remember!
