SYRACUSE -- A former student-teacher from Connecticut has pleaded guilty to having inappropriate sexual contact with an underage girl in Central New York.

According to the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office, 30-year-old Micah S. Brown, originally from Portland, Oregon, pleaded guilty Monday to felony third degree criminal sex act. He was accused of driving from a school in Connecticut where he was a student-teacher to Marcellus to have sex with a 15-year-old girl. He was also accused of giving the girl alcohol and marijuana.

Brown was arrested and charged in April after undercover police used fake online chat names to get him to come to a hotel in East Syracuse.

Brown will serve one to three years in prison after his plea, but still faces federal charges in the case.
