MIDDLESEX, YATES CO. -- A Yates County man is facing charges stemming from an investigation into forged checks.
Randy Morse, 44, is charged with 35 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony.
Yates County Sheriff's deputies say they seized 35 counterfeit/forged checks from his home. In all, the checks had an apparent value in excess of $90,000.
Investigators say they were shipped to his home in Middlesex from Malaysia.
Authorities also seized 110 suspected counterfeit checks, a computer and business records.
Investigators say the checks were being used as part of a mail and bank fraud conspiracy.
Morse was arraigned in the Town of Potter court. He remains in the Yates County jail without bail.
