WATERTOWN -- A Watertown man was arraigned Friday morning on charges of second degree murder. Police say Thursday night, Michael Booker, 20, called 911 and told them he had killed his half brother, Nathaniel Railing, 18.
Police say both men lived at 662 LeRay St. in Watertown. That's where Booker was arrested.
"Patrols went to the rear of the residence and did in fact find the body. It was secreted under some brush and debris that was at the back of the residence," says Lt. Frank Derrigo of the Watertown Police Department.
Joseph Vreatt lives in the apartment upstairs from Booker and Railing. He says at least four people lived at the home. Vreatt says he can't believe this happened in his own backyard.
"Let’s put it this way, I was relatively freaked," says Vreatt.
He's not the only neighbor who's upset. Danielle Graves has new concerns about her neighborhood and keeping her four-year-old daughter, Kyra, safe.
"It's kind of crazy," says Graves. "I didn't get much sleep, and my daughter slept with me last night because she didn't know what was going on."
Police say the investigation is still ongoing, and they're not releasing any information about how or why Railing was killed, yet.
They say an autopsy is taking place today, and they will likely have results Monday.
