SYRACUSE -- There's a new magazine in town and inside its pages you'll find articles on all that makes living in Syracuse something special.
Syracuse Magazine hits the stands today and editor-in-chief Mark Silva, thinks the magazine will appeal to a growing number of young working professionals, like himself, who have recently moved back to the area. "A lot of us have lived in other places like Chicago, New York, Miami. A lot of us are taking what we learned there and we're saying, 'hey this is possible here,' " he says.
Hollywood actress and former SU student, Vanessa Williams, graces the cover of Syracuse Magazines first edition.
Inside the magazine are features on everything from where to eat to where to live.
Publisher Zach Belil says one of the highlights of this months magazine is a special report on former mayor Lee Alexander, one of the more colorful figures in the cities history. "For Syracuse, a guy that walked around with tailored suits, rode in a limousine and a had a blond on each arm, that doesn't happen everyday," he says.
Four thousand copies of the magazine are being mailed out and another thousand will be available throughout the city.
Silva says the print version of Syracuse magazine will be mailed out every two weeks and the online version will be updated everyday."We want this place to be fabulous.. it has so much potential lets make it fabulous," he says.
