2 teenagers okay after a 20-foot plunge

ONEIDA COUNTY -- Oneida County Sheriff’s deputies say two teenagers are okay this morning after driving off a road and plunging nearly 20 feet to the ground around 5:30 am Sunday.

Deputies say 17-year-old Chelsea Heitzmann, of Oriskany, was driving west on Boak Road East in the Town of Floyd and didn’t realize the road had ended, continuing through bushes and trees.  Heitzmann and her passenger, 19-year-old Kenneth Burke, of Deerfield, then fell 20-feet to the ground.

Both teens were taken were taken to local hospitals with non life threatening injuries.

No tickets have been issued at this time, but the investigation into the crash continues.
