MADISON COUNTY -- The 18-year-old high school student accused in the drunk driving crash that killed her friend has made bail and is out of jail.
Chelsea Kuss spent a week in jail after her September arrest. Prior to her arrest, Kuss she was planning to enroll in OCC this fall, but her attorney says that is now on hold.
The next step in the case is a pre-trial conference set for Thursday morning in Madison County Court in Wampsville. Depending on the outcome of that hearing, a grand jury may consider the case next.
Kuss is accused of aggravated vehicular homicide and other charges related to the May 24th high speed collision on Route 31 in Bridgeport. The crash killed her friend, Victoria Deverso. It also critically injured the driver of another car, Peggy Blume, a mother of three.
