(AP) -- About 160,000 Black & Decker and Craftsman cordless electric lawnmowers, manufactured in United States, Canada and Mexico by Black & Decker (U.S.) Inc. of Towson, Md., because the motor and blade can turn on even after the safety key designed to prevent this from happening is removed. This puts those using the mowers at risk of cuts. The company has received 34 reports of mower motors operating after the safety key was removed, including two reports of finger lacerations. One of these incidents required stitches. These lawnmowers were previously recalled in September 2002 and August 2006 for posing a fire hazard.

The Black & Decker mowers were sold at home centers, hardware stores, discount stores and authorized Black & Decker dealers nationwide between September 1995 and December 2006. The Craftsman mowers were sold at Sears and Orchard Supply Hardware stores nationwide between January 1998 and December 2000.
