TAMPA, FL -- It wasn't pretty, but the Syracuse Orange grinded out a 13-9 road win over South Florida this afternoon. Delone Carter rushed for 106 yards on 26 carries. Antwon Bailey added 81 yards on the ground on 9 carries.
This is the first 4-1 start for the Orange since 1999. It's also the first win against USF in program history. This puts Syracuse one step closer to its first bowl game since 2004, when it lost to Georgia Tech in the Champs Sports Bowl.
