Drivers using thre Thruway eastbound between Waterloo and Weedsport are likely to face delays today. Here's an announcement we just received the the state Thruway Authority.
The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that an unscheduled bridge repair project will take place eastbound between Interchange 41 (Waterloo, Route 414) and 40 Weedsport (Route 34) this morning, Friday, October 15, and could cause minor to moderate delays for commuters.
Authority forces will close the right driving lane at milepost 316 eastbound to perform repairs to a bridge that was damaged due to an accident that occurred earlier this morning. The lane is expected to be closed throughout the morning and motorists may want to consider alternate routes.
The Authority will utilize Variable Message Signs (VMS) to alert motorists of the work and any delays that result from it.
The Authority appreciates motorists patience while this unscheduled work takes place.
