Onondaga Co. clinics start Tuesday

It is time to get your annual flu shot, because it takes several weeks for your body to build up immunity after getting the immunization.
Onondaga County's Health Department recommends the shot (or nasal spray for some age groups) for anyone over 6 months old.  Health educator Karyn Johnson says  this year's vaccine includes the H1N1 strains that required a separate shot last year.  The county's clinics will also offer pneumonia vaccines, primarily for over 65s but also for younger people with specific health problems.

Onondaga County is doing 12 clinics, starting Tuesday morning in Solvay and ending Nov. 23rd at Drumlins.  All are by appointment:  www.onflu.net or 435-5752 will let you schedule, and also ask questions.
We also have a complete list of area clinics, including those offered by other health providers.
