WARNERS, ONONDAGA CO. -- Firefighters in Onondaga County spent Monday morning battling a large house fire in the Town of Van Buren.

According to fire officials on the scene, a single family home at 2037 Warners Road in Warners was reported to be on fire by a passer-by. Unfortunately, officials say the caller gave incorrect address information to Onondaga County 911, so it took crews longer than usual to respond.

Once they arrived, firefighters say they found the house on fire, with flames and smoke pouring out of the side and rear of the building. The upper portion of the home sustained heavy smoke damage, but officials say no one was home at the time and no injuries have been reported. The Red Cross of Central New York says it is assisting two people affected by the fire.

Fire officials tell CNY Central that there was a fatal fire at the same house fifteen years ago.
