The New York State Thruway Authority today announced a brief rolling roadblock on eastbound I-90 west of Syracuse for Thursday morning, November 4, 2010, as part of the ongoing pavement reconstruction project.

The rolling roadblock is scheduled for sometime between 9 a.m. and noon on both eastbound lanes from milepost 308.0 to 301.0 between Interchange 40 (Weedsport, Auburn, Route 34) and Interchange 39 (Syracuse, Fulton, I-690), weather permitting.

All eastbound traffic at Interchange 40 (Weedsport) will be prohibited from entering the Thruway while the rolling road block is in place.

The work Thursday will reconfigure the driving lanes to the normal traffic pattern for the mainline of the Thruway.

The rolling road block should last less than 20 minutes and could cause minor to moderate delays.

Variable Message Signs will be in place to alert motorists of the work and any delays associated with it.

Motorists are encouraged to remain alert and aware of their surroundings while traveling through the area.

The Thruway Authority appreciates motorists' patience during this necessary project.
