If you don't use that old electronic item anymore, you can recycle it through OCRRA. Ann Fordock, an e-waste recycling specialist, says the Ley Creek Transfer Station (off 7th North Street) will be open Saturday, November 6th 8am to noon.
The recycling is for households, not businesses (see below) and OCRRA asks that you fill out a Household Electronics Certification in advance and bring it with your items.
For each television, monitor or laptop, they'll charge $10, but other e-items are free, including:
>audio-video equipment (CD, DVD players, VCRs, radios, stereos, video game consoles)
>Cables, wires & power cords
>Circuit boards
>Computer peripherals and hardware (speakers, mouse, keyboard, modems, routers, hubs)
>Printers, fax machines, scanners, copiers, typewriters
>Telecom equipment (Cell phones, pagers, landlines, answering machines)
>UPSs (Uninterrupted Power Supplies)
Check the OCRRA website for options for business recyclers, and also for other year-round e-recycling options, and other Special Programs for other specialty dropoffs.
