Syracuse Symphony program coming up
It is THE most performed ballet in this country, and Syracuse Symphony's version of The Nutcracker, an annual early December tradition, has some new additions this year.
Shannon Holmes, with Syracuse School of Dance, is ballet mistress for this year's production, and has been rehearsing students who've auditioned for the parts last fall. They've been dancing every Sunday to learn the choreography, and are looking forward to 'showing off' in the five performances coming up.
BalletMet Columbus brings the sets, including a new one for the opening party scene. There is also new choreography.
And, even though cameras are not allowed during the performances, this year there will be photo sessions after the evening shows, with the stars, in costume (autographs, too).
Here's the performance schedule, at Syracuse's Mulroy Civic Center:
Friday, December 3 11am & 7:30pm
Saturday, Dec. 4 2 & 7:30pm
Sunday, Dec 5 2pm
The Syracuse Symphony is at 424-8222 for more information.
